This delicious date dip is made using whole dates, fiber intact, unlike many so called "natural sweeteners" that are highly refined and can have negative impacts on blood sugar, inflammation, and weight gain.
This date paste can be used in place of honey, maple syrup, and agave nectar to sweeten vegan yogurt, top morning oatmeal, and slather over pancakes and waffles!
8-9 medjool dates (here is my favorite brand)
1/4 cup water, plus more for soaking dates
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1. Place the dates in a small bowl, cover with warm water and let sit for 30 minutes.
2. Once the dates have soaked, drain the water then add the dates, water, and vanilla extract to a blender or food processor.
3. Blend until smooth, transfer to an air tight container, and store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
